Andrea recently graduated with the first class of AZ Stitch Lab students! A member of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Andrea has always enjoyed sewing in her spare time. When she heard about the workforce development program offered to members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, she immediately enrolled in the 6-week program. Now that she has completed her Certification in Basic Industrial Sewing, Andrea is employed as a production sewer stitching a variety of sewn goods including denim bags and seasonal hats for two local manufacturers.
During the 6-week program, Andrea learned the basics of Industrial Sewing including machine safety and maintenance, a variety of stitches, pattern making, cutting and the nuances of apparel construction. Congratulations Andrea for a job well done!
